About Entrepreneur Legal®
Legal expertise and smarter drafting tools for UK businesses
Entrepreneur Legal helps founders, start-ups, SMEs and growing businesses address their legal needs through legal services provided by experienced SRA-regulated solicitors and StartWise™ Drafting, our guided AI-assisted platform for creating business legal documents.
Whether you need individual legal advice, lawyer review, bespoke legal support or a more efficient way to create a business document yourself, Entrepreneur Legal gives you different ways to move forward according to the needs of the matter.
Built around the needs of entrepreneurs and growing businesses
Entrepreneur Legal UK was established in 2022 to provide practical, commercially focused legal support for founders, start-ups, SMEs and other businesses in England and Wales.
Entrepreneur Legal's history began in the United States, where founder Gabriel Mbanefo established his New York legal practice in 2014. Entrepreneur Legal UK was subsequently established as a separate UK business serving entrepreneurs and businesses in England and Wales.
As the needs of those businesses have developed, Entrepreneur Legal has expanded beyond traditional legal services.
Alongside individual solicitor support, Entrepreneur Legal now offers StartWise™ Drafting — a guided platform designed to give businesses a structured way to create tailored first drafts of business legal documents.
Today, a business can use StartWise for a suitable self-service drafting need, request separately provided lawyer review or consultation, or work directly with an SRA-regulated solicitor through Entrepreneur Legal UK where individual legal advice, bespoke drafting, negotiation or broader support is required.
Two ways to work with Entrepreneur Legal UK
Legal Services
Where your matter requires individual legal advice, legal analysis, negotiation, bespoke drafting or other solicitor involvement, Entrepreneur Legal UK provides business legal services tailored to the circumstances of the matter.
Legal services are provided by solicitors who are individually authorised and regulated by the SRA.
Our work focuses on the legal needs commonly encountered by founders, start-ups, SMEs, investors and growing businesses, including commercial agreements, founder and company arrangements, intellectual property and other areas of business law.
Entrepreneur Legal Ltd itself is not authorised or regulated by the SRA and does not carry on reserved legal activities.
StartWise™ Drafting
StartWise helps businesses create tailored first drafts through structured, document-specific workflows.
Rather than starting with a generic legal template or deciding what to ask a general-purpose AI chatbot, you select the document you need and answer guided questions designed around that particular agreement, policy or business relationship.
StartWise uses your answers, together with relevant saved business information and document-specific drafting logic, to create a tailored first draft. Drafting Notes can also identify assumptions, follow-up points and matters that may require further attention.
Where individual legal input is required, lawyer review, consultations and bespoke legal services are available separately.
StartWise™ Drafting is not legal advice, lawyer review, legal approval or legal sign-off.
Choose the level of support that fits the matter
Not every business legal need requires the same approach.
For a relatively straightforward document, guided self-service drafting may provide an efficient starting point. Other matters may involve legal judgement, negotiation, regulatory questions, significant commercial risk or unusual circumstances and are better dealt with through individual legal support.
Entrepreneur Legal UK brings different levels of assistance together so businesses can choose an appropriate starting point.
StartWise™ Drafting
Use an available guided workflow to create a tailored first draft.
Lawyer Review
Have an eligible document reviewed by an SRA-regulated solicitor within the applicable review scope.
Legal Consultation
Speak directly with an SRA-regulated solicitor where you need individual advice, strategy or help determining an appropriate legal approach.
Bespoke Legal Services
Work with an SRA-regulated solicitor where the matter requires individual drafting, negotiation, legal analysis or broader support.

Why businesses work with Entrepreneur Legal UK
Commercially focused
Legal documents and advice need to work in the context of the business. We focus on practical solutions that take account of commercial objectives as well as legal considerations.
The appropriate level of support
A routine agreement and a complex or negotiated matter do not require the same approach. StartWise provides a structured self-service route for suitable drafting needs, while individual legal services are available where legal judgement or solicitor involvement is required.
International perspective
Many UK businesses operate internationally from an early stage. Entrepreneur Legal's experience spans both the United Kingdom and United States, while the separate UK and US Entrepreneur Legal businesses provide their respective services under separate arrangements.

Supporting businesses at different stages
The legal needs of a business change as it develops.
A founder may initially need to put arrangements between the founders in writing or protect intellectual property. As the business grows, it may need agreements with contractors, customers, suppliers or commercial partners, website and privacy documents, financing arrangements or more individual legal support.
Entrepreneur Legal UK's aim is to make it easier to choose an appropriate route.
Where a suitable StartWise workflow is available, a business can use guided drafting to create its own tailored first draft. Where the circumstances require legal judgement or individual assistance, lawyer review, consultation and bespoke legal services are separately available from SRA-regulated solicitors.
