General Membership

What is StartWise UK™?
StartWise UK™ is a subscription-based advisory service offering legal, commercial, and strategic support to UK startups. Our qualified solicitors and business consultants provide founder-friendly advice without hourly billing.
What’s included in each membership tier?
Each tier includes a combination of email Q&A, 1:1 consultations, document reviews, templates, and more. Full details are listed on the pricing tables.
Can I upgrade, downgrade, or cancel my membership?
Yes. You can change your membership tier at any time via your dashboard.
Cancellations and downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing cycle (monthly or annually). We do not offer refunds for unused time or early termination. You will retain full access to your plan benefits until the end of the period

Legal Advice Q&A

What is counted as one Email (or WhatsApp) Q&A?
One Email Q&A is a single, focused question—or a set of related sub-questions—on a specific topic (e.g., hiring a contractor, negotiating an NDA). Follow-up emails that clarify the same issue are included.
Do multiple questions in one email count as one or more Q&As?
If all questions are about the same topic, they count as one. If they cover different areas (e.g., SEIS and pricing strategy), they may count as separate Q&As.
What if I send a long email chain—does each reply count separately?
No. A back-and-forth thread on one topic still counts as a single Q&A until a new, unrelated issue is raised.
Do questions about pricing, services, or how the platform works count as Q&As?
No. Administrative or service-related questions (e.g., “How many consultations do I get?” or “What’s the price for a custom contract?”) are not counted against your Q&A allowance.

Consultations and Document Support

How do I book a 1:1 call?
You can book consultations through your member dashboard using Calendly, integrated with Google Meet.
Can I roll over unused consultations or Q&As to the next month?
Yes. Unused consultations and email Q&As can be rolled over once into the following month only. For example, if you don’t use your included consultations or Q&As in May, you may use them in June. However, any unused benefits from prior months will expire after one month.
What kind of documents can you review or draft?
We can review a broad range of business-related legal documents including NDAs, founder agreements, contractor contracts, and more. However, for drafting bespoke legal documents, add-on pricing applies.

Legal & Regulatory Scope

No. We do not provide reserved legal activities or court representation. Our services are advisory and offered in a non-regulated capacity by qualified professionals.
Do I still need a traditional law firm?
We’re ideal for startups needing accessible, day-to-day legal and business support. For regulated matters (such as those involving real estate) or litigation, external counsel may be required.
